it depends more on the gas you are running and the kind of tuning you are using.

Drag cars use 14.0+ compression with 20+ psi, but they are running full race gas and such

In the end it is the best to keep as high a compression as possible on a turobcharged car, while keeping it from detonating, for the most HP.

IT IS counter-productive, but more of a safety thing
