Just the other day my nephew takes his 'Stang to the strip to run, and some guy there encouraged him to try shifting w/o the clutch to get better times. He did it, and went home with a trashed trans. The bottom line is if your racing and can afford to swap the trans. often, go for it. Otherwise, use the clutch.
