around $1400, if i remember correctly. i'll have to double check on the model, but it's supposed to be around $1800. he got it so he could pick up piano again. we both played piano growing up, clear through high school. he was a lot more into it, tho. played in school jazz bands and such... since he moved out, he didn't have access to a piano. the one he got has a lot of features beyond a basic digital piano. it has some recording-studio type features, like being able to record multiple tracks (on the piano), midi in and out, and others. it's also less of a piece of furniture, as some digital pianos are. i think it's more of a stage/recording studio instrument. it didn't come with a nice looking stand built in, no music stand, etc. but it sounds and feels awesome.
one sales person told us that technics is actually going out of business. i'm not sure if this is true at all. it would really be a shock because they make the best digital pianos in the world, and everyone knows it. but they are ridiculously expensive... if it is true, maybe you can find some closeouts in a couple months?
