I was by my local Honda dealer today and said what the hell and stopped in for a test drive on an 05 FBP Accord V6 Coupe 6MT. On the test drive I had a BLAST. I love the new Accord coupes. Anyways, during the drive I asked him about the adjusted timings and he was like "Yeah, it's got VTEC" and I was like nonono I KNOW that damnit, I drove up in a 98 Accord EX, and he didn't really seem to know what I was talking about when I mentioned 250hp with premium gas. Can anyone link me to a confirmed bit about that?
Also, I had heard/read somewhere that the new Accord V6 6MT has LSD and Electronic Stability Control. I did see the stability control button, but the guy who rode with me didn't know about LSD. I can't find this on Honda's site either. Can someone link me to that, too?
Hi
I've owned a six speed coupe for about two months now, and heard that the use of premium fuel adds 10 more hp. I was still skeptical and asked both a Honda representative and the service manager in regards to this claim. Both claimed it was true. On my third fill up I used premium fuel and can definitely say it makes a difference. I haven't driven the car very hard, but the increase in performance is noticeable. The six speeds also have a revised intake and exhaust compared to their V6 sedan counterparts. The coupes also have slightly larger front rotors and revised dampers. The six speed coupe, however, does not have a LSD or ESC.
Hope this helps.
