They also owned slaves. Many were adulterers. Should I really aspire to live by that moral code?
So I guess we must only have perfect humans writing law...ok. The adultery was not acceptable for the time but slavery was, and has been used worldwide in all of history. It had its use in its time. I personally disagree with it, so don't flame me over it.

Answer: I don't need you or your book to tell me the difference between right and wrong. The next time you think that atheist liberals are snooty and elitist, try to remember that you just told me that my moral code is bullshit because I didn't get it from the bible, which does in fact endorse slavery.
I'm curious. How did you learn murder was wrong? Who told you it was? Why do you believe it? In other words, what is your frame of reference?

You are allowed to practice your faith openly, but not anywhere that the government pays for it. Have you noticed that Jews, Muslims, and Buddhists aren't allowed to have prayer time at school? Do you think those other three groups are also under attack?
I'd say they are being unfairly treated, too.

Christianity: 2 billion

Population of the world: more than 6 billion

Where do you get 99% from?
Used as an *example* The figure is 75-80% if you cared to read it.

By the way, the bible references the Earth as being round.

In fact, law and morality are not one and the same. Tell me, why is it immoral to have anal or oral sex? Both are proscribed by the bible, are they not? Both have even been illegal in parts of the United States. How is it immoral?
Moral code and law agrees in this case. What's the point?

Speeding could be considered immoral if you are endangering yourself or someone else.

Same for pot.

By the way: I find your willingness to subjugate the needs and freedoms of the small minority to the vast majority to be immoral. I don't know what "liberty and justice for all" means to you; obviously not much.
You mistakenly assume that every person will get exactly what they want in this country. It just isn't true. Liberty is pretty much a sure thing, but justice is not perfect...ask any judge or lawyer. The majority rules, I don't know what else to tell you.
