Only use Honda ATF, don't mess around with other crap. If you want to be a professional DIYer or whatever you can go against Honda's advice, but I don't possibly see why you would.
Hi 98CV6,
In the last 2 months my Honda went six times to South Florida accumulating amazing $14,000 miles already. I also had (in NJ) lately some snow where I live, and tires were slipping a lot which I guess puts some strain on transmission. Now, in Camry I change my tranny fluid once per year no matter what (I do about 10-15 k per year - depending on business).
I know what Honda manuals says but I don't have a problem spending 100 bucks to make sure my car is kept at tip-top shape and I just feel that keeping the fluid that long was recommended more for marketing purposes then having in mind 100% maintenance needs of the car.
And yes, any "sensitive" maintenance and/or work I always do with Honda dealers. I even buy my own Mobil 1 Syn oil and Honda filter.
BTW - thanks for your reply. You seem ok and civilized, unlike some of the jerks (see Mr. Beeeeee) who are so "busy" that my post is taking them away from their lives as f.kin brain surgeons (or internet p.orn surfing ha Beeee?)
