Those may be sucking cold air, but the stock airbox does not. It is just routed down into a resonator box then back up right where the battery is, sucking in hot engine air. The main reason intakes lose throttle response is the length and the diameter. If it's too long you get poor throttle response and if the diameter is too big, then you also get poor throttle response. I'm glad you didn't take offense to my original post, I didn't mean it the way it might have sounded.
