i'd suggest emptying a can of pb blaster, wd-40, shop solve on it. any of those will help loosen any gritty rust. let them soak in for quite some time if you can.

also DON"T use an extension if at all possible. you lose ALOT of power with an extension. the bolt on this y8 block i bought doesn't even need a deep socket. just a regular shorty. also besure to use a 6point not a 12point socket. you get better grip with a 6point.
