There is nothing direly wrong with a standard 55w halogen bulb. In fact, if all you're doing is urban driving at night, the stock bulbs are perfectly adequate.

I had a pair of Sliverstars on my old GTi (using retrofit kits for the stock sealed-beam HLs). They worked well enough, but I expected more of an improvement for the premium price. :a:

Compared to the "upgraded" bulbs, you might as well save up and go w/ the HID in the long run.
