Is the antenna bent? Any slight enough bend will cause the antenna not to extend or go down properly. It doesn't mean necesarily mean that the problem is the motor or the teeth on the antenna mast. At least this was the problem that I had with my 95. In the longrun I just ended up extending the antenna all the way up, and then disconnecting the motor. Antenna makes a sound as if your car is farting when it gets stuck which is kinda anoying and embarrasing. Problem solved. i want to get satellite radio soon anyways, so once I get it I plan on putting the antenna down and maybe even just shaving it off.
