If the "ewww" was to me, those are my winter wheels, I have 18s for the rest of the year. But the point is...16s with no drop are look a lot better than 18s with no drop.

And when you use larger wheels, if you use the right size tire it doesn't mean "bigger spaces in your fender". The overall diamater will be basically the same. The problem is the optical illusion of having more wheel gap than tire sideall. That's what gives the "lifted" look.
