It's not that big of a deal to install a new rod, but you'll have to call your Honda dealer and order it (make sure your explanation is clear because they get confused easily). It shouldn't be more than $20 or $25. Once you get it I can take a picture (or jschmid can) of the Helms manual page that details how to replace it...I've looked at that page before and I don't believe that it's very difficult to do, you just have to posess some basic know-how.

And yeah, that is pretty damn lame.
