They are. They are amazingly easy to turn and stop. YOu can ski backwards and do all sorts of fun stuff. Plus less equipment to carry too. And you don't look like a fool anymore.
The easiest way I found to carry my skiis was to strap them together using a velcro strap. All those Ski Totes and ski bags are so cumbersome. With the blades you just clip them together and put them over your shoulder.
