Hey folks, I've noticed several weeks ago that the cooling fan in my 94 Accord EX started coming on after I turn off the car, but didn't think it was a big deal until today when I noticed the temperature hit the red mark very shortly after I started warming up the car. Turns out that it's completely out of coolant!

Since I'm almost completely clueless about cars, I was hoping to get some advice from you folks. Is it possible for the coolant to dry up after a period of time (it's winter here in NYC and pretty dry), or is this definitely a leak? Should I bother filling up the coolant and monitor the level to make sure it's not leaking, or should I just get it towed to the shop to get it checked out?
