Well I was giving the opinion of why I wouldn't do it, which goes in your line of reasoning there. I think that carbs breathe a little better at WOT, which would be why people would run them...short runners, no intake tube, etc. Almost all of the Honda race cars I've seen have run fuel injection and a standalone EMS...it's far superior. You could always just run ITB's like Chris said. Best of both worlds. The breathing of a carb at WOT, tunability of FI. As for converting to carbs, I wouldn't even know where to start with converting the wiring and ECU.
