Okay I have a serious problem. I took off at a light and I hit vtec going through first, second, to third, as I was shifting to fourth I put it in to second as if I was shifting to fourth. So I was at 8 grand in third, when it engaged to second it went to 10 grand. There is no rev limiter because of my ECU. So now as I drive there is a real bad ticking in the motor, the car still seems to drive okay, still can go through vtec fine. It still idles normal, even when starting up in the cold weather. Also, when it happened there was a bad smell , no smoke, but a bad smell mainly during vtec. Burning something?! Remember I have stage 1 cams. If you could please give me some imput on what you think could be wrong Id appreciate it. The main thing is the loud ticking.
