its prob the autotensioner.

I'm getting a loaner out of it for the day (beat on some domestic POS tonight)--and the service guy was super cool about it.

Considering for the past 5 yrs, Ive only done oil, filters, brakes, tires, and radiator flush, I guess its about time for something, right?


Here is the question.

When they do the auto tensioner replacement. Do they replace the tensioner with the same malfunctioning OEM unit?

It would seem stupid to do so. I don't want to have this problem again at 120,000. I called Honda, and of course, they had no idea what part they are going to get.

Service rep "They should use a different part"
Me- " I know they SHOULD, but I want to know that THEY WILL"
Service rep- "Yeah..i know..the part should be different"

and it went like that. Im going to ask the mechanic to compare the two parts to see if its the exact same unit.
