2000 prelude. no mods. almost 60k

I hear a odd tapping kind of noise when the engine comes down to idle. When I have my head 'in' in the engine--and I pull on the cable for the accelerator, the engine revs--sounds fine. When the engine revs back down to idle, I can hear this odd tapping noise for a couple of secs before it goes to idle. It really only occurs from 1000 to 1200 rpms...

Otherwise the car is fine.

My thinking is that it may be time for a valve adjustment?
