no its right above where you would find the engine code, so i guess the opening is in the engine not in the transmission. Anyway there is usually a little black rubber stop that you have to pull out to see it. Here is a pic of what you are looking for. Just stick the prybar in the hole and brace against the teeth of the flywheel and the engine block.
