What about REAR brake pads on 2003 Honda
I was reading through all of these posts and getting increasingly furious over my own situation. I just took my Accord in for regular oil change and tire rotation. They called back saying that the REAR brake pads are almost 100% worn. I have had the car about 1.5 years and it has 26.5K miles.
I have NEVER heard of rear pads going out that soon. I have a 2003 4-cyl EX and am not an aggressive driver. The tech told me he has seen the rears wear out in as little as 17K. He was also feeding me some crap about how it's normal for the rears to wear down faster than the fronts on the new Accords. Is this true or not? What's more, I haven't even noticed anything out of the ordinary with the brakes. They don't shake or judder at all.
In any case, I told the tech I was aware of the TSB (03069) and he said that TSB is for the front pads and not the back pads. Any advice? I'm waiting to hear back from the service manager, but am sensing that I will eventually need to call Honda America.
Anyone else had this problem with the REAR brakes?
Thanks,
Kevin
