the sole blue wire hanging out by your hood prop would work too. You're doing a bit if backwards wiring there, it's fed from the Cluster which is fed from the ECU.
If I were you I'd still hook everything up behind the cluster, but it's up to you man.
hooking it up behind the cluster would be a much better way to do it. This way you dont have to worry about the tach wire grounding on the hole in the firewall you had to run it through.
