Yeah its pretty normal. I am assuming when you fired it back up it spit out some blue smoke from oil in the chamber as well?

It happens all the time so don't sweat it. Trying to get up Back to Back here at TSF you see people doing the same thing and having to compression brake to back down the hill again, sometimes 5, 6, or 7 times in a row because it is just that steep.
