Tranny, is this normal?
Hello,
I have only had my accord for about a month now. I have been reading the post about the transmissions. I wanted to know if when from a standstill, is it normal for the car to take some time to shift into the next gear? I am coming out of driving a v8 mercedes 400E (dont ask) to the v6 accord, so I am just trying to see what's what. I was driving for a while a 90 accord 4dr manual and it appeared to have more"pep" than the accord and I was wondering if I unknowingly have a transmission issue. I mean should'nt my v6 be more spirited than a '90 stick? I know it has nothing on the 400E which is car a was meant for a 6, but has the same 8 as the S Class which is larger and heavier.
Any insight from you young knowledgable car enthusiasts would be helpful. I love the lines and styling. It just seems to be a car that revs high, but does not move relative to the "sound" it makes. If that makes any sense. Here is an example. When you drive a stick, the car revs up to a certain point and you shift. My car seems to stay or stick in that gear first gear in what seems to be a little long to me. I may be wrong.
Anyway, let me know what you guys think.
