No reason they can't have both, is there? It's not like I play wanting to crash all these cars into things, but just like how the author of the thread is annoyed by the lack of realism in regard to having no engine problems when he redlines it the entire time I find it pretty lame that there's no damage done to any of the car bodies.
It might be a video game but the reason alot of people play it is because it's got real cars with real upgrades etc. etc. = realism. I also don't see why they'd sacrifice physics for body damage.
