I had 205/40/16 the first time I got my 16's and all I ended up doing was bending my SSR's (plus I had the shitty NT450's). Since then I've switched to Yoko Parada Spec II's in 45 series and I love them.

Just a word of caution though, depending on your wheel offset, if you have a wheel that is less than +42mm offset (I have +37mm) you might want to make sure that your alignment is up to spec and that your ride height compliments the sidewall height of the tire. There is only a certain height I can put my car or else I'll rub taking corners and whatnot.
