You'll see some gains with the fuel tuning aspect of something like a V-AFC and time on a dyno, hell, you'd probably see gains on a complete stock engine as they have different casting and tolerances because they are mass produced. You wire up a $20 rpm activated switch to move the VTEC point around, you won't get extra power by engaging it early, if so, why wouldn't Honda simply lower the stock engagement point.
