Personally, I wouldn't wait so long, since the drivetrain prob. shears off more metal particles during the break-in period. My dealer gave me 3 freebies, the first one at 3750 miles. A good way is to look at the oil after 10k and see if it's clean. I'd be surprised if it wasn't slightly syrupy and black. If so, then change it more frequently. Mine looked pretty dirty after 7500 miles, so I'll probably go about 5k miles. More often never hurts, it's just more $.
I worked for them this past summer. Go to a Honda dealership and ask anyone there about it. They'll tell you there is an additive. The service writers are trained to know about things like that.
