Best Type R Suspension
If I were you I would go with a koni adjustable and ground controls. This is good b/c ground controls can be ordered with custom spring rates at no extra charge. I have konis with 450 lb/in in front, and 650 lb/in in rear. also with the konis you can have them revalved to be "matched" to the springs. all of this is still cheaper than a set of teins. Also a 25 mm rear sway bar is perfect for this set up. cusco, suspension techniques and eibach make a 25 mm rear sway bar for the itr. Like the other people said the type r suspension is just about perfect. but increasing the rear rate to about 200 lb/in can reduce understeer permantely. the larger rear sway bar does this too.
this set up works. after many many track days and talking to tons of honda guys.
my type r pulled just under 1g on flaken azenis. I got a .98. not sure how correct it is but with race tires I could definitly break the 1g mark.
I know many people that race in the honda challenge. and they all have a very similar set up. but with higher spring rates. If any of you read the scc with the 25 hours of thunderhill in it (June '04). the yellow civic has rates of 700 and 900 lb/in. with larger rear sway bar and no front bar.
