The car downshifts 1-2 gears when you floor it, I would think, theoretically when you let off, it'll bump up to the next gear, so you are going up gears. But my advice is, STOP beating the crap out of your auto-tranny, unless you really want to spend $ to fix it or swap it.
he isnt beating the crap out of it. i know what he is talking about. its not like he is shifting from d4 to d3 or anything. he is just letting off the gas some. i mean i can hear my car struggling to change gears sometimes so i let off the gas a little and it goes into gear alot easier.....
