proc: i like intel myself, but that's cause I do alot of work with video. if you're a gamer, go with amd
vid card: I got a 9600aiw.:dunno:
memory: I'd get 2 gb of ddr
hd's: raptors :drool:
case: ummmm, antec. simple and effective. usually come with a great power supply
optical drives: get a nec 3500 dvdrw. they have the best laser out IMO, and as always, the fw can be speedhacked. liteon makes great dvdrw drives now as well
