The owner's manual mentions the reverse lockout that designed to save the ass of an overly enthusiastic shifter. Not that I'm confessing to anything...h:

I simply de-clutch, shift to neutral, let the clutch out, then repeat - shifting to reverse.
Of course, the car is motionless at the time.
