Please help: Broken brake master cylinder
Hi everyone,
This is my very first post. I don't know much about cars so if I make a mistake somewhere please bear with me. I have just bought my very first car last month. It is a 1995 Acura Integra LS 4 door. To make the long story short, I am really happy with my purchase but I need to replace the brake master cylinder and the dealership want to charge me $460 for it but being in school I simply can not afford that much. But I really don't want to drive around with hardly any brakes so I do need to take care of it ASAP. A good friend of my boyfriend offered to give me a used master cylinder off a 2000 Integra LS 4 door for $40 which he said it will work on my car. My question is that will master cylinder off that car really work ? The dealership told me the part number for the 1995 compare to 2000 are different. Is that something I should be worried about? I would really appreciate any help on this subject.
Cheers
Cindy Wang
