hahah parents always say stuff like that. I had some 17's with 205/40/17 tires on them and they hardly threw off my speed. At 100 mph it was maybe only off 3 mph. BUT if you get bigger/heavier rims it will
KILL your acceleration...believe me. I raced my buddies stock spec v from a 40 punch and i i'd pull him EXACTLY 3 cars 40-100. I took them off and sold em and put on my steelies temporarily. I raced him 5 times and pulled him by 6 cars consistently. It will be good for a good .3 seconds on a car like ours that is drastically affected by weight...especially unsprung weight.
