Ok, first off, I had an argument today with my mechanic about doubling clutching. From what I have gathered, it not only saves your tranny (synchros) from mashing, it also saves your clutch because you put less wear on it by matching revs. What are you guys' and gals' opinions?

Second off, I tried changing the clutch on my teg this evening with my mechanic. It didn't quite go as planned because the tranny was bolted on so tightly that we couldn't get it out with an impact gun. I want to take it to a shop to get it done. Does anyone know of a shop in NoVa (northern virginia) that does good work for cheap?
