Sounds like someone is trying to cut their losses and get as much money back out of the car as they can. You know what they say, when you buy a car with 100k miles, you're buying someone else's problems. I got my CRX at 158k and promptly replaced the clutch, rear main seal, both axles and the complete exhaust from the converter back. Shortly thereafter I replaced the master cylinder and the front pads and rotors. Not a big deal to me, because I did all the work myself and now have a dependable little car. I got it for $260 because it also "needed and axle". Basically the guy just wanted his money back for the brand new radiator he had just had put in the car. If you buy a car with high miles, expect there to be a lot of parts that are either worn out or just about to go.
