First of all, it depends on how it was taken care of. From my personal experience, I wouldn't say it's a money sucker. Things tend to wear out, though. Things I replaced on my 90 from 180-217k miles: Battery, alternator, tires, exhaust pipe B, muffler, cam end plug, timing belt, water pump, brake rotors and pads, front brake calipers (one was seized), dash bulbs, main fuel relay, fan timing control unit (faulty one caused the radiator fan to run all night, thus draining the battery), a headlight and several headlight bulbs of course. If you do the work yourself and buy the parts online then it can be fairly inexpensive and the car is a lot of fun.
