however, you can do this one of two ways....

the 96-98's have the funny curve on their main headunit. Plus, if you run OEM keyless, then it won't work without the main unit. The OEM cd player for the 96-98's is a seperate component, which goes in the lower din (next to the cupholders). You can get that, and wire it in, and it will work with your main unit. I'd suggest this, but if you already have access to a 99-00 cd player...

if thats the case....

you can put the 99-00 cd player into the upper din space with either an aftermarket cd kit (ie the plastic trim that squares off the hole), or by just putting it in there and aving it sit back a little. (you don't *need* a cd kit, but it looks a little better)

Or you can leave the main unit up top as a dummy, and run the main wire harness down to the lower din (it will reach) and install the 99-00 cd player down there.

However, in these two instances, you lose OEM keyless, unless you piggy-back the main unit.

I have a clarion mp3 player in my lower din space, and I ran the main harness down to it, and then ran a few wires (power, dimmer, ignition, ground) to keep power to my main unit, so it retains OEM keyless and lights up, shows the time, etc, but its not wired for sound.

still looks clean :grinpimp:

plus, with my dark tint, you can't tell its down there at night... At least, I haven't had my system stolen since I put it down there :chuckles:

Nice setup! Looks good
