I would disagree with that. The hatch has that wide open space in the back, where as the sedan/coupe has a solid rear deck, which serves almost like a strut tower bar. With upgrades, theres probably no difference between the two, but stock verses stock, I would tend to think a sedan/coupe is more rigid
