George Tenet did the next best thing to apologising.. he resigned his position because he knew he fawked up.

"WASHINGTON (AP) -- Retired Gen. Tommy Franks tried to take the blame Monday for President Bush's much-criticized comments declaring an end to major combat in Iraq more than a year ago.

"That's my fault, that George W. Bush said what he said on the first of May of last year, just because I asked him to," said Franks, former commander of forces in Iraq and Afghanistan."

General Franks was apologizing for the statement "mission accomplished" and not the actual war.

George Tenet should have been fired after the USS Cole, and I absolutely place blame on President Clinton for that.

In the meantime, no one currently working in the administration has apologized or taken responsibility publicly.
