Yes you can remove the was right away but it's better to let it sit. Think about it. If you Take it off right away your basicly just doing something for nothing. Let it sit for 20 and then take it off. Goodluck.
You're leaving a layer of wax either way.
The wax does not dry all the way through. The top few molecules dry and harden, and underneat is left to still be "wet." Therefore, either way, you're removing un-hazed wax.
