Thanks to all....for advice on this clutch issue and the axle replacement issue some 6 months ago ( I had problems getting the balljoint off the LCA) and I took one of your advices and used a sledge hammer and pounded the sides of the LCA and got it out.

I had the Haynes manual but you just can't rely on it alone. Nothing beats the valuable experience of what you all had attained and the willingness to share that in the public.
