In my case, I have an LX 1.5L engine that USED to have power steering on it and now it doesn't (because my chassis doesn't). I'm using my CX crank pulley with it because I didn't get the DX crank pulley with either of my engines. Fine by me. Less rotating mass than a 3-groove pulley.
The timing mark issue mentioned above was solved by using the CX timing cover. TDC marks line up and are still correct, so I use that instead of the other marks, and just dial the timing light in to what the DX/LX base timing is supposed to be.
If you use the crank pulley and timing cover from the same power steering equipped engine, you won't have issues with timing marks. If you change over to the lighter 2-groove pulley to save weight when you delete the power steering from a car, you need the timing cover, too.
Maybe my D15B7 didn't come from a 92-95 and that's why, but the two timing covers I had were different? A D15B7 is the sohc 16v 1.5L used in 92-95 DX/LX's. I don't know what else came with a D15B7 except a 1.5L Del Sol. I found both engines in the dirt and made one out of them... I don't know where they came from or how old it was.
