But when someone continuously bashes the US (i.e. Nightshade) I get irritated because I was under the impression that life in our contry was a lot better than most others. What you need to understand is that criticizing the president is not necessarily being unpatriotic or disrespectful.

I think that life in the US is a lot better than life in some other places, but it isn't that black-and-white. There are things that make England great, and France great, there is greatness even in our frozen neighbors to the north. Don't get caught up in "my country is better than your's." You'll miss the bigger picture.
