america needs more parents like you.

but you also gotta understand that the majority of people who needs the afterschool programs are the parents who arent able to educate their kids at home to bring them up to standards, and they do have to rely solely on the government to fund these programs so that little Xio Wu, Rotunda Brown, and Juan Martinez can pass the state exams and move on to the next level of the beautiful public school systems.

just to share, right now im working at a private organization, as opposed to non-profits like i usually do, and i get to talk to a lot of instructors. first thing that i have noticed is that the students here are academically SMART, compared to the students that ive previously worked with. the instructors are always saying...."i wish more parents would involve their kids in programs like ours. they are exposed to so much more." which is completely true, but most fail to grasp that

...it cost ~$250 a week to participate here, so roughly $1000 a month.

from what i know, that $1000 a month is more than half of the monthly income some families of 4 around here makes.
