A while back, I was looking for tires for my 99GS. The car I just bought has the original Michelins and the rubbers are starting to crack on the base of the thread even there is only 18,500 miles on the car. For safety reason I decided to get a new set of tires. After looking around, I decided on the Kumho Ecsta ASX in the 205-50-15. I was also looking at the Toyo Proxes 4 tires. I use my car as a commuter car and I do not race or take my car on the track. I was looking for an overall safe tire with good handling in both dry and wet condition and acceptable thread wear. I live in CA, so snow driving is not an issue. The Toyo Proxes 4 probably is a better tire in handling but they are about $26 more per tire when compared to the Kumho Ecsta ASX. I am having the tires put on tomorrow and I will definitely will give everyone a review on the Kumhos later.
