Between general liability and driver liability, I'd estimate that the typical store pays about $2800/mo for insurance.

Moreover, since petrol is at or over $2.00/gal almost everywhere, I don't see anything wrong w/passing along that cost to the people who are costing the money.

I don't think I'd ever do that myself, but I don't think it's all that queer that a restaurant does it.

Charging delivery fees is short sighted, IMHO. You run the risk of hurting your drivers, without whom you cannot run the business.

I don't like when a small retailer passes along credit card fees, but I understand why he feels he has to do it.
