i really dont think that is how you make an honest living, by ripping people off.
wow man, you need to have a reality check here. Hospitality services (server/delivery guy/hotel baggage clerk) they ALL rely on tips because when you are in hospitality you will make lower wage. at most places the wage is well below minimum wage, the tips are then the MAIN income. i was a server and honestly, if you came into my establishment again, i would probably not even try to work for that tip because you are just lousy at tipping and have the complete wrong idea about this service field.

and yes you should always tip the delivery guy - he's doing the service of bringing your damn pizza to your damn house. why couldn't you go get it yourself? because you're too damn lazy to get off the sofa, into your car, and drive a few miles to pick up your pie. don't want to tip the delivery guy? get the damn thing yourself.

I tip according to service receaived regardless of where I go. My general rule for delivery though is a lot more loose. Usually if they make it to the house they start with a base tip and depending on a few different factors like speed of service, pizza not squashed, courteous service etc. it goes up accordingly.

Delivery service fees...hmmm...I dunno what those mean but they charge them around here and I assume none of it makes its way back to the driver which seems like bs to me.

I have stiffed waiters in some of the nicest resturaunts in town simply because I got crap service. I used to wait tables and know for a fact that if you give crap service you should not expect to be tipped well if even at all.

I think you have a bad chip on your sholder, and a bad idea as to why people order things.
I orderd a pizza once, installing my turbo. Not sittin on my couch.
If the driver, takes his sweet at him, and my pizza is cold. no tip.
Its still a service, and you can do a good or bad job on it.

My friend is the manger of round table here. they charge $2.00. $1.00 for them .. lame, and $1.00 for the driver.

i work in the fine dining business (fine dining and up-scale casual) so i know how tips go, i always tip well. when my mom doesn't tip that good, i tell her to put down more, or throw my money down, that's how they make their money.

well obviously some people will be unable to go, but the majority of orders are from people who just don't want to leave the house and like the COURTESY of home delivery.
