It depends how far you want to go with it. If you just want some quick hp, but nothing drastic, than a turbo kit will suit your needs. But since the B16 is a pretty high compression engine, there's a limit to what you can do without engine work. If you swap an engine, you won't get huge gains now (maybe about 20 hp or so if you put in a B18C1) but you will have a better foundation for a turbo setup later. Granted that you will still need to internal work on a GS-R engine if you want to run high boost. H22 is also a good engine, the only downside being that it is heavier and shifts your CG forward, and I believe it's a pretty tight fit.

As for reliability...kinda depends on you. There was one thread a while back about an H22 that tore out the engine mounts on someone's car because they used cheap knockoff mounts, but there are swaps that have lasted a while. Same with turbos or B-series swaps.
