Did you remove the starter? One of the starter bolts goes all the way thorugh the transmission housing and bolts to engine block and has to be removed (it's an easy one to miss). I just typically pull the starter and use it's hole for a handle to steady the tranny when putting it back up. Assuming all the bolts are out, I typically lower the jack under the tranny aim it down a little and just work a few big screwdrivers around the edge. I have a big pry bar I use sometimes to break it loose. There are 2 (maybe 3, I don't quite remember) hollow metal dowel pins that line everything up and that's probably what your stuck on. If you have a second body, get them to grab the tranny and pull back while you pry at the front edge with something. That usually works.
