As for a speical tip/shortcut, when you need to remove your axles, try just undoing the upper control arm bolts to the engine bay. That supposedly saves time compared to trying to get those ball joints seperated. I haven't used this method yet but 2 people I know have done it with luck.

just get a ball joint splitter. i changed my clutch this weekend. paid 13 bucks for it, i wedged it in, hammered 3 times and the ball joint was out.
when you do your clutch, dont forget to torque all the flywheel bolts equally!!
